Hello everyone!

My name is Katja Kunstek and come from a beutiful little country called Slovenia. I was born in 1983, in the sign of Aries.

For those of you, who do not know where Slovenia is - I managed to find a map of EU countries, where you can see it's position:)

Ever since I can remember, I tryed myself in one form of art or another. My first little attempts of drawing began in nursery school; I remember teachers allways begging me to finish allready, because it took me hours to be satisfied with the outcome.

I guess I inherited the talent from my granddad, who still loves to draw and patience from my mother, who knitted by hand many beautiful pullovers and cardingans for me. Thank you both:)

In elementary school and high school my paintings and drawings were regularly exhibited in school's corridors; my parents were so proud at me and that gave me even more enthusiasm to try something new. I even won a school's price once for paintings on silk.

Everyone believed, I would register to Academy of Fine Arts and Design, but I had other plans. Currently I am a graduate at Faculty of Economics and Business and am planning to finish my degree in marketing this year. Eventhough I am studying economics I allways find loads of time for my arts.

About 3 years ago I found myself acquaintante with polymer clay, but at that time I only made jewelry. By surfing on the net and visiting some great sites of other ooak artist I said to myself, I could try it too. My poor little attempts of fairies and mermaids did not exactly amaze me much, but I did not give up. As you can see, I am getting better and better with every fairy I make.

Beside sculpting I like to try myself in any form of art that comes my way. Just a few weeks ago I took part in wire jewelry making class and have to say it was great.

Being a fantasy art lover I am also a big animal lover. Currently I live in countryside, which gives me a lot of inspiration for my work.

Here you can see some of my favorite animals...

On this occasion I would like to say thanks to all of the amazing artists around the world, who are so kind to share their knowledge with everyone!

I haven't been sculpting long, but I know sculpting has become my life. It is something that calms me no matter what. I put a lot of love, energy and time into each sculpt I make and hope new owners will feel it too...
